Frequently Asked Questions
Everything from a first-year student to a tenured professor needs to know about researching with CleverGraph.
What is CleverGraph?
CleverGraph is an AI-powered research-to-chart platform. You ask a question in plain language and it researches live sources, extracts the data, writes the insights, and generates a boardroom-ready interactive chart in about 30 seconds — with citations and a data-quality score.
Who is CleverGraph for?
Anyone who needs fast, sourced data insight without writing code: students and professors doing academic research, analysts and consultants building decks, journalists fact-checking figures, founders sizing markets, and knowledge workers preparing reports.
How does it turn a question into a chart?
You type a natural-language question (for example, "US GDP growth 2010-2024"). CleverGraph queries live data sources, synthesizes and cross-checks the findings with a multi-model AI pipeline, picks the right chart type automatically, and returns an interactive chart with AI-written insights and source citations.
Where does the data come from, and are sources cited?
Results are built from reputable live sources such as the World Bank, OECD, IMF, Eurostat, government statistics and financial databases. Every result lists the sources it used so you can verify each figure.
What is the CG Score?
The CG Score is a proprietary 0–100 rating shown on every result that reflects the quality and reliability of the underlying data — how well sources agree, how recent the data is, and how complete the series is. Learn more on the CG Score page.
How accurate and reliable are the results?
CleverGraph cross-validates figures across multiple sources and shows citations plus the CG Score for transparency. It is built to accelerate research, not replace judgment — you can open the sources and verify every number before you use it.
Is there a free plan, and do I need a credit card?
Yes. The Free plan lets you start immediately with monthly credits that refresh automatically — no credit card required. Paid tiers add more credits and advanced capabilities such as Company and Country Deep Dive.
How much does CleverGraph cost?
There is a free tier plus paid Pro and Business tiers. Credit costs are calculated dynamically from real AI usage with a minimum floor per query. See the Pricing page for the current, up-to-date plans and prices.
Can I export and share my charts?
Yes. You can export a full report as PDF or the chart as PNG, and share any result with a one-click public link that is clean and shareable. Business workflows also support richer report exports.
Can I upload my own data?
Yes. You can upload CSV or Excel files and CleverGraph will generate charts and insights from your own data, in addition to its live-research capabilities.
Which AI models power CleverGraph?
CleverGraph runs a multi-model pipeline — CG Flash for fast research, CG Ultra for deeper accuracy, and CG Intellect for premium cross-validation — with access to 600+ models. Business users can bring their own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key (BYOK) for a large credit discount.
Is my research private and secure?
Your research is private by default and only becomes public if you choose to share it. See the Privacy Policy and Security pages for details on how your data is handled and protected.
How is the price of each query calculated?
Credit costs are calculated dynamically from the real AI usage of each query, with a minimum floor per query to protect quality. You only pay for what a query actually uses — there are no opaque flat markups. See the Pricing page for current plans and prices.
What are CG Flash, CG Ultra and CG Intellect?
They are the three research engines you can pick per query: CG Flash for fast everyday research, CG Ultra for deeper accuracy, and CG Intellect for premium multi-model cross-validation. You choose the right engine per question so you never pay for overkill.
What is BYOK and how much does it save?
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) lets Business users connect their own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google API key to run research at a large credit discount — up to 80% — which is ideal for high-volume teams.
Can I buy extra credits or cancel anytime?
Yes. You can top up credits at any time from your wallet, and subscriptions can be changed or cancelled whenever you like, with no lock-in contracts.
How is the CG Score calculated?
Each of 21 checkpoints is scored 0–100 and tier-weighted, then combined into a composite. Independent domain signals (traffic authority, domain age, archive history, malware and safe-browsing scans, SSL validity) drive most of the score, live on-page content quality contributes about 15%, and email-authentication records (MX, SPF, DMARC) add about 8%. The result maps to an algorithmic grade from A+ (exceptional authority) to F (unverified), plus an editorial tier (T1 → UC).
What is a good CG Score, and does it rate individual articles?
A score of 80 or above (grade A/A+) indicates high, citable authority; 60–79 (B/C) is broadly dependable but worth corroborating; below 60 (D/F) should be treated as directional only. CG Score rates the domain, not a specific article — a high-scoring domain has a strong track record, but always apply critical judgment to any individual piece of content.
